The structure features references to architectural elements drawn from local history, such as arched openings, window proportions, brick patterns and cast stone accent pieces, along with sloped metal roofs. The project also delivered a 1,200-seat gymnasium, 750-seat auditorium, 369-seat cafeteria, plus a media center, administrative space, and variety of specialized instructional spaces.
The two-story, 204,500-SF Walton High School facility with capacity for 1,000 students features 45 classrooms that provide a broad array of learning spaces. Academic spaces are organized around a two-story “interior street,” designed to serve as the cultural and social hub of the community.
