Port of Miami – Terminal F (Design-Build)

The 471,500 SF Terminal F expansion at Port Miami showcases a design that differs from the neighboring terminals. The terminal contrasts with adjacent structures through the use of metal wall cladding, a continuous, undulating, metallic roof profile visible from docked ships, and light-filled entry points. The project marked the first vertical installation of the SSR™ Standing Seam Roof System in South Florida. Included was the renovation of Terminal F, an expansion building for Terminal F, a new provisioning facility, coach parking with a canopy, and additional drop-off and pick-up canopies.

The development featured Port Miami’s signature tensile fabric canopies, balanced by a flowing horizontal roof profile. The terminal blended existing structures with new buildings and required the precise alignment of three separate rooflines, achieved by building up both sides with steel and connecting them seamlessly. Despite its complexity, the project was completed on a fast-track schedule, with design and construction progressing simultaneously, allowing the terminal to remain fully operational.
