Leon County South Side Transit Center

The Southside Transit Center, located at the busy corner of Meridian Street and Orange Avenue, is a multi-modal transportation hub designed to streamline mobility and reduce wait times for nearby residents. The centerpiece of this development is a 2-story, 8,000 SF operations building, constructed with concrete spread footings, load-bearing concrete masonry walls, structural steel framing, and a steel roof system. The ground floor houses a lobby, security office, ticketing office, driver relief area, restrooms, and lockers. The second floor is comprised of ten offices, a meeting room, conference room, storage, and break area. Complementing this is a single-story, 225 SF maintenance building, with concrete spread footings, load-bearing concrete masonry walls, pre-engineered light-gauge roof trusses, and a steel roof deck. The site is enhanced by custom steel canopies integrated with solar panels, offering shade while promoting renewable energy use.
