Florida International University College of Nursing and Health Science

This 5-story, 100,000 SF building straddling the Avenue of the Sciences, provides a striking image from SW 8th Street and 107th Avenue. Along with the Chemistry Building and Science Classroom Building, the College of Nursing helps to anchor the medical programs on campus. The architecture reflects the surrounding campus at FIU. The building houses wet and dry laboratories, classrooms, an auditorium, and office and administrative space.

The foundations, columns, and shearwalls are reinforced, cast-in-place concrete. The slabs are cast-in-place, supported by precast prestressed joists, and soffit beams. The walls are infill masonry, precast panels, and windows.
