Florida International University Frost Art Museum

The 40,000 SF museum is a 4-story, L-shaped building situated along an existing lake on the University Park Campus in Miami-Dade County. It features exhibition galleries, a 4-story glass atrium at the entrance, a cafe and museum shop, and an outdoor sculpture deck that overhangs the lake. The project also includes an art studio classroom and a lecture hall for students.

Long after the structure is erected, we continued to help the team to develop details for supporting the paddles that are intended to

divert the sunlight coming from the large skylights away from the art on the walls, while allowing natural light to flood the space.

From early hand-sketches to the final elegant reality, BNI has done a number of collaborations with the architect and the contractor to

achieve the vision of the designer.
