Located on a 12-acre city-owned site at 1940 N. Monroe Street, the project replaced the outdated facility from 1972 with a modern, comprehensive campus spanning approximately 203,000 SF across four key structures: a Police Station, Shooting Range, Fleet Maintenance Building, and Central Utility Plant. The 4-story Police Station is constructed with a structural steel frame and composite metal decking with a walkout basement on its west side. The exterior features a combination of precast wall panels, storefronts, and curtainwall assemblies, while the roof utilizes a built-up system over metal decking. The 37,170 SF Shooting Range building features a steel framework with truss girders, a metal roof deck, and a built-up roofing system, complemented by storefront windows in non-range areas. The 32,627 SF Fleet Maintenance and Rolling Asset building is designed as a single-level pre-engineered metal structure, featuring exterior metal panels and roof panels. Complementing this, the 9,493 SF Central Utility Plant is constructed of concrete tilt-wall panels, a partially built-up roofing system on a metal deck, and protective steel mesh at open areas, while providing built-in redundancies and emergency power capabilities for the entire campus.
The Police Headquarters enhanced community engagement with a 364-seat public meeting space, specialized forensic labs, secure vaults, and a museum dedicated to the history of the Tallahassee Police Department. The development also featured comprehensive sitework, including parking, site utilities, landscaping, irrigation, and perimeter fencing.
