This open-air mall was first brought to Coconut Grove in 1990 and now faces a major facelift and rehaul. The faux-Mediterranean mall will transform to a modern and sleek complex offering 100,000 SF of office space and 150,000 SF of retail, dining and entertainment space, with parking in two levels below the street. A glassy five-story office building will encompass half of the outdoor mall while the other portion contains a fresh list of new restaurants and shops. The main pavilion will be tree-shaded with a magnificent Kapok Tree. This centerpiece sits in a planter box that is framed on four sides by concrete “walls” that span from street level down to the garage slab below.
