Freeport Middle School

This new 150,000 SF facility, designed to support approximately 1,200 students, replaces the existing Freeport Middle School on Kylea Laird Drive, whose buildings date back to the 1940s. The development encompasses master planning for future growth with 2-story classroom buildings, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, a bus loop, parent pick up/ drop-off area, a media center, recreation space, and a multipurpose auditorium. The campus will include outdoor facilities such as a softball and baseball field, a concession, a track, and a field for soccer and football. Designed to withstand coastal weather conditions, the school also functions as a hurricane shelter. The site’s location, outside the flood zone and more than a mile from the mean high-water line, enhances its safety profile.
