Baptist Health South Florida – Baptist Hospital – South Building Expansion

A 5-story tower, expanding the existing Baptist Hospital South Building, and encompassing approximately 115,800 SF. The modern facility includes eight new and four shelled surgery rooms on the ground floor, a second floor housing the Bio-Med Engineering Department, central sterile processing and storage on the third floor, and a pharmacy on the fourth floor. The fifth-floor penthouse, approximately 7,100 SF, includes elevator equipment and mechanical areas. Significant renovations were made to existing floor areas consisting of 92,000 SF to support the new tower, and another 35,000 SF of cosmetic renovation. The updated PACU area now offers 28 bays, with provisions for six future bays, and the revamped Pre/Post area accommodates 50 bays with the possibility of eight future bay expansions. A 3-story bridge links the new building’s second, third, and fourth floors to the equivalent levels in the MCVI and South Building, enhancing connectivity and efficiency.
