South Florida is home to the largest land-based Salmon farm. Atlantic Sapphire’s technology is based on a recirculating aquaculture system where the water is filtered continuously with a constant swirling tank that gives the fish a feel of the wild while reducing the risk of disease outbreaks. The fresh and salty water is piped in from Florida’s aquifer system. Phase 1 is a 390,000-SF, climate-controlled facility where the salmon are hatched, grown, and processed under one roof, with thirty six 51-foot-diameter tanks and six rectangular tanks measuring 18 feet by 22 feet by 18 feet deep.
